Tamaghna possessed a natural flair for rhythm right from his childhood and was introduced to the table quite early in his life. He started training under Shri Shyam Chand Sen (One of the senior deciples of Pt. Shyamal Bose) when he was only 5 years of age and went on to learn from him for a period of 13 years. Tamaghna excelled at playing the instrument and had already started performing at the age of 10, earning countless accolades from eminent musicians across the country. Having shown colours of hard work, dedication and perseverance, he was taken in as a Shishya by Pt. Sankar Ghosh and studied briefly with him for 3 years. After the unfortunate demise of Pt. Ghosh, he went to pursue his training under Pt. Anindo Chatterjee and is currently a ‘Ganda Bandh Shishya’ of Panditji.
He is also taking his training in 'Pakhawaj' from Pt. Tapash Kumar Das
Tamaghna also performed for the All India Radio, Kolkata and has been declared as a ‘Yuva Bani’ artist.
