Pt. Radheshyam Sharma was born in a traditional musical family. He received his training in Pakhawaj, from his early childhood under the guidance of his father Pandit Totaram Sharma (Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee), The Pakhawaj Wizard. Pt. Radheshyam Sharma also had the privilege to learn from his Dada-Guru Swami Murali Dhar and Pandit Purushottam Das (Padmashree Awardee). He also received his training in Tabla from Professor Sudhir Kumar Saxena, who was a disciple of Ustad Habibuddin Khan, the great Tabla Maestro of Ajrara Gharana. Through rigorous training of years Pt. Radheshyam Sharma has mastered the renowned Pakhawaj Gharana – Jaipur Gharana (Nath Dwara).
From the beginning of Indian Classical Music, treasure of the world, Pakhawaj and Tabla have a very important role. Pt. Radheshyam Sharma is undisputed master of accomplishment as well as solo player in this respect. His aesthetic attitude towards music is unparallel and highly appreciated everywhere.
Pt. Radheshyam Sharma is a “Top Grade” Artist of AIR & Doordarshan Government of India. He received B. Mus (Prabhakar) & M. Mus (Praveen) Degree in both Pakhawaj & Tabla. He attained his BA in Economics from Agra University. He is also the recipient of the prestigious National Scholarship and Fellowship (Junior & Senior) awarded by Ministry of Human Resources, India. Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi awarded Pt. Sharma for his outstanding performance as well as his contribution in Pakhawaj. He has accompanied with the world famous Musician and performed all over India and aboard. He has also been the member of jury of the Music Audition Board AIR Delhi from time to time.
He visited Maharshi Vedic School in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark & Peru from from 1991 to 1994. Pt. Radheshyam Sharma has also performed in New York, Chicago, Miami and Tampa, his visit to USA in 1996 to 1997 was not only for public performance but also to teach Tabla & Pakhawaj. During March 2007 to 2010, ICCR, Government of India, deputed him to work as Teacher cum Performer at JNCC, Embassy of India, Moscow (Russia). He also gave performances in Lithuania and the Latvian Republic, it was the first ever Indian classical music tour in Latvia. ICCR Government of India deputed him to work as Teacher cum Performer at GTICC, embassy of India, Mexico City (Mexico) from 2015 to 2019.

He has organized “Radost Music Project” in Moscow (Russia), which is aimed to make interaction between western & eastern cultures and create possibility of positive musical influence on humanity.
He believes in Guru- Sishya Parampara so he has produced many disciples in India as well as abroad through India tradition. At present he is living in Delhi, spreading the art of Indian Classical Music by teaching Tabla & Pakhawaj among his Indian and Foreign Students and is also giving recitals from time to time.
