Ustad Jawaad Ali Khan is top grade Indian Classical and light classical artist of AIR and Doordarshan. He sings Khyal Thumeri Dadra Geet Ghazals Kafi Folk traditional music. He represented India through ICCR in many countries. He performed privately also in Canada and Europe.

Carrying forward a great tradition, and proud descendants of a lineage of great masters, Ustad Jawaad Ali Khan is son of Karamat Ali Khan and very talented grandson of Padma Bhushan Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, doyen of the Kasur Patiala Gharana and one of this century’s greatest vocalists.

The initials guidance and musical environment for Ustad Jawaad came from his grand father Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and his grand uncle Ustad Barkat Ali Khan and father Karamat Ali Khan. He nurtured his love for music and focused his thinking towards the greatness of this art from. Later, he started formal training under his uncle and guru, Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, second son of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. He groomed him in the intricate Chamukhia style of the Kasur Patiala Gayaki. His Guru’s vigorous talim which stretched for many years coupled with his own untiring Riyaz, has moulded him into mature and capable vocalists.

In his several concerts in India and abroad he has been flooding audiences with nostalgic memories of his beloved grand father with his expertise in weaving complex Taan patterns and their control over Swara and Laya. His broad and virile voices compel attention and performance never fails to impress. His rendering of Khyal Thumris and Dadras is with immense beauty and elegance. While remaining within the norms of their Gayaki, he is innovating his own projection and creating a definitive aura and brilliance in his rendering, encompassing perfect technique and aesthetics. 

Ustad Jawaad Ali Khan is top grade artist of All India Radio & TV. His audio-tape “Yaad-e-Sabrang’, featuring a set of exquisite Thumris and Dadras dedicated to Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, has recently been released by Weston.
