Brought up in an atmosphere of music from his family and inspired by his parents, Ashoke Mukherjee, one of the finest Tabla Player of the present generation. Started in his initial training from Late Pandit Bibhuti Bhushan Bhattacharya of the Lucknow School of Music. Subsequently, he has been receiving extensive talim from his worthy son Pandit Swaraj Bhattacharya. Ashoke has proved himself as a soloist and as an accompanist and has charmed the audience everywhere with his rare sense of aesthetics and musicality. Also well reviewed by the press, he has accompanied a number of reputed musicians in prestigious musical festivals all over the country.
Besides Ashoke has extensively toured Europe and Far East on several occasions and performing a reputed festivals conducted several workshops on Tabla. Some of the countries like Germany, England, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Singapore,China, Arab, Algeria, South Africa, Bangladesh, etc. Besides his classical Tabla, Ashoke also performed with Jazz, Rock, Fusion Music. He is extensively attached and performed regularly in India and abroad with “This is not fusion” a project work composed by the great international author Sri Amit Chowdhury.
