Subhradeep Sahoo is a Mumbai based Ghazal singer and vocalist, who is a disciple of Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Vidushi Meenal Deshpande. He is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and worked in the oil sector until he quit his job to pursue his passion for music full time.
He is the founder of an organization Music For all which is aimed at spreading music and its benefits to larger audiences including the underprivileged sector of the population. He performs live sessions and performance of Ghazals at various events, DD National, and also college festivals with his exclusive band Alfaaz.
He started playing harmonium when he was 2 years old and started his formal training in Odissi - a form of Indian Classical Music at the age of 6 from his first guru, his grandfather Sri Sudam Choudhury and later from Gurus Pt. Jyoti Goho and Ustad Akhlakh Hussain Warsi.
Ghazals convey classical music in a very unique style that touches the chords of various human emotions. Many masters like Sri Jagjit Singh, Mehdi Hassan Saab, Ghulam Ali Saab have contributed several renditions. Subhradeep Sahoo sings their renditions as well as his original compositions in his beautiful voice to bring out human emotions and strike a chord with the audience.
