Born in the family of musicians, Pranav obtained initial Tabla lessons from his father, Shri. Milind Gurav. Further, he obtained valuable guidance from Pt. Nana Mulye for 4 years. He has learnt under the able guidance of Pt. Suresh Samant for 10 years. Currently he has been obtaining further training in Tabla from Dr. Aneesh Pradhan, a noted Tabla player of the Farukhabad Gharana. Also, he has been learning intricacies of Tabla from his grandfather, Shri. Maharudra Dhumal for a past few years. Pranav is passionate about pursuing Tabla as a solo performer as well as an accompanist for classical vocal, instrumental as well as various dance forms, predominantly, Kathak. Pranav aims to retain the Indian classical music in it's pure form through his art but is also keen on experimenting with various other forms of music. Pranav is also passionate about taking the responsibility of promotion and preservation of Indian classical music through various events and initiatves organised by the organization "Kalanidhi", formed by his parents, Smt. Aparna Gurav and Shri. Milind Gurav. Pranav has been fortunate to accompany many vocalists and instrumentalists like Vidushi Padma Talwalkar, Vidushi Archana Kanhere, Vidushi Arati Ankalikar, Pt. Vijay Koparkar, Pt. Shounak Abhisheki, Pt. Ronu Majumdar, Vidushi Devaki Pandit, Dr. Vikas Kashalkar, Dr. Arun Dravid, Vidushi Shubhada Paradkar Shri. Rahul Deshpande, Smt. Manjusha Patil, Shri. Hemant Pendse, Shri. Pramod Marathe, Sau. Aparna Gurav, to name a few along with dancers such as Pandita Mamata Maharaj and many artists of younger generations in many prestigious as well as private concerts.
